Beyond the Veil Fragrance

Floral, woodsy, softly mysterious, and made for a quiet fall or winter evening.

Citrus and soft powder open the fragrance before giving way to light jasmine, summer flowers, and vanilla. Tonka bean, musk, wood, and oud settle underneath with a warm, shadowy finish.

The fragrance contains nutmeg, patchouli, Siberian fir needle, Virginia cedarwood, California lemon, Indian peppermint, and palmarosa essential oils.

It feels like an old cottage at the edge of the woods, a storm gathering beyond the window, and the distinct sense that Spirit has entered the chat.

How to Work With Your Candle

Before lighting Beyond the Veil, choose one question or area of focus. Keep it clear. Ten questions fighting for attention will have everybody confused, including you.

Place the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface and take a few quiet breaths. Speak your question aloud or write it in your journal.

Then choose your divination practice.

Tarot or Oracle Cards

Light the candle before shuffling. Ask for insight that is truthful, useful, and aligned with your well-being. Allow the cards to reveal the situation without forcing them to confirm the answer you hoped to receive.

Runes

Hold your question in mind while mixing or selecting your runes. Place them near the candle at a safe distance and observe their positions, relationships, and repeated symbols.

Automatic Writing

Open your journal, write your question at the top of the page, and begin writing without editing every sentence. Let the first thoughts arrive before your inner manager schedules a meeting about them.

Flame Reading

After the flame becomes steady, observe its movement, height, and behavior without staring into it continuously. Record what you notice and compare it with the physical conditions in the room, including drafts, wick length, and airflow.

Not every flicker is a prophecy. Sometimes the air conditioner has a message too.

Water Scrying

Place a dark bowl of clean water on a separate stable surface near the candle, with plenty of distance between the bowl and flame. Allow the candlelight to reflect across the water while you soften your gaze and observe any images, feelings, memories, or impressions that arise.

Ritual Statement

When the path is unclear, let what is hidden be revealed. May I see beyond fear, illusion, and wishful thinking. May truth arrive clearly, and may I have the courage to recognize it.

Repeat the statement aloud before beginning your divination practice, or write it in your journal as the opening to your session.

A Note on Discernment

Divination is not about surrendering every decision to a card, rune, dream, or flame.

Use the information you receive alongside your lived experience, common sense, personal values, and practical research. If a message creates panic, obsession, or pressure to act immediately, step away and return when you feel grounded.

Real guidance can be direct. It does not need to bully you.

Candle Safety

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from children, pets, drafts, curtains, paper, dried herbs, divination cards, journals, and other flammable materials.

Always burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Keep water bowls, cards, runes, and ritual tools safely separated from the flame. Do not move the candle while the wax is hot.

Do not burn for longer than four hours at a time. Discontinue use when approximately ½ inch of wax remains.
