The Morrigan: Beyond the Veil | Beeswax Divination Candle

Foresight. Insight. The space in between.

The cards were on the table, but my attention was still somewhere between the day’s responsibilities and the question I wanted to ask.

I knew that feeling. Sitting down to read before I’d truly arrived.

As an apothecary and a reader, I wanted to create something for that moment of transition. A small ritual that marked the beginning of intuitive work. Something to light when it was time to put the outside world aside and give the reading my attention.

In the story behind this candle, that was where The Morrigan appeared.

I imagined a raven at the window, watching as I shuffled the cards again. On the open page beside me, a question waited:

What am I not seeing clearly?

I stopped shuffling.

That question became the heart of The Morrigan: Beyond the Veil.

Inspired by The Morrigan and her associations with prophecy, sovereignty, and transformation, I created this candle for the moments when you’re ready to look beneath your first interpretation. To sit with a question a little longer. To notice the detail you nearly passed over.

And yes, for the girlies who know before they know.

A Seat at the Reading Table

I chose golden beeswax and a purple embossed-glass vessel that feels at home beside a well-loved deck, an open journal, and the tools you reach for when it’s time to listen.

Two wooden wicks bring a warm glow to the table. As the fragrance unfolds, jasmine introduces a lush floral note, tonka adds a smooth sweetness, and oud settles into a deep, woody finish.

The atmosphere calls to mind a forest cottage at dusk: old books within reach, herbs hanging overhead, and a reading table waiting by the window.

It’s a setting you can make your own, whether you’re preparing for a client session, laying out cards for yourself, or opening your journal for automatic writing.

Your practice brings the meaning. This candle becomes part of how you make room for it.

Your Moment Beyond the Veil

Before beginning, prepare your space and choose a question or intention. Light both wicks, take a few unhurried breaths, and let this familiar act mark the start of your session.

Read your cards. Sit in meditation. Work with your pendulum, runes, or scrying mirror. Keep a journal nearby for impressions and reflections you want to revisit.

When you’re finished, extinguish the candle and give yourself a moment to return to the everyday.

As the apothecary behind this blend, that’s the experience I wanted to offer: a beautiful, intentional beginning and ending to the work you already do.

Candle Details

• Approximately 5 oz of natural golden-yellow beeswax

• 7 oz purple embossed-glass vessel

• Two wooden wicks

• Jasmine, tonka, and oud fragrance

• Wooden lid featuring The Morrigan: Beyond the Veil label

• Hand-poured in small batches

• Created for divination rituals, reflection, and intentional atmosphere

Slight variations in wax weight, color, texture, and finish are part of the hand-poured process. Each candle receives individual care, from the pour to the finishing touches.

Candle Care

Follow the wick-trimming and burn instructions included with your candle. Place it on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts and anything flammable, including cards, journals, curtains, and dried herbs.

Keep away from children and pets. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and never move the vessel while the candle is lit or the wax is hot. Do not burn for longer than four hours at a time. Discontinue use when approximately ½ inch of wax remains.
