There are days when even a Goddess needs a little light of her own.

In the story of our apothecary, Happy Joy began on one of those days. The worktable was crowded, the to-do list was growing, and I found myself asking for a simple way to bring more beauty into everyday living.

That was when Archangel Jophiel arrived with a gift: a recipe and a gentle reminder to leave room for my own joy.

Into the blending bowl went shea, kokum, and murumuru butters, creating a rich base to soften dry skin and turn an ordinary moment of moisturizing into something worth slowing down for. Jojoba oil added conditioning care, while golden beeswax helped hold moisture close.

For a smoother glide, the recipe called for C12-15 alkyl benzoate, a lightweight emollient that gives rich butters a silkier finish. Arrowroot helped soften the oily feel, with pearl powder and vitamin E completing the blend.

Then came the fragrance. And this was where Jophiel’s gift began to feel like sunshine.

Bright orange and juicy mandarin opened the scent, followed by crisp apple and a playful spark of peppercorn. As that first brightness softened, creamy vanilla and warm tonka bean lingered close to the skin. Cheerful at first, comforting as it settled.

Within the apothecary’s lore, citrus represents optimism and renewal, apple welcomes pleasure and abundance, and peppercorn brings a little lively energy. Vanilla and tonka offer a warm finishing touch, an invitation to enjoy the moment you’re in.

Jophiel’s message was simple: make a little room for what feels beautiful.
